2023 Melburn Roobaix - Ride Report
It's often you - the rider who encapsulates what makes the day so SUPER!
It is not a race - but the day is a blur of activity from sun up to dusk. This year you came from all corners of this city, state and country - with some even visiting from abroad to join the ride.
The weather was classic Melburn - overcast, windy, patchy rain, brilliant sunshine and we even got a rainbow for the prize ceremony as riders celebrated the day and shared stories of their experiences.
Thank you to all that rode and are keen to return for more in 2024.

Brunswick Cycling Club
For the second time in the event history, event day coincided with Mr Pink's birthday.
Dave is tireless in his commitment to the Brunswick Cycling Club, junior racing and development, and this bike party that happens once a year.

Blackhearts & Sparrows
Not only did Blackhearts & Sparrows make an amazing sectuer, with FREE Birra Zirro to everyone who rode through, they gave away an amazing HIGH FIVE prize.
Congratulations to Kevin Wong who won 5 Slabs of Birra Beer just by being plucked from the raffle barrel.
Good thing that you stuck around for the prize ceremony! A SUPER effort to ride home with it all too.
Genovese
Congratulations to the daughter / father team that waltzed into Mitte cafe, and waltzed out with the prize pack of beans, grinder, cafetiera, briscola playing cards and coffee cups!
Damien Nicoletas & Tim Brooks also took home the same after being drawn from the raffle.
Quad Lock
There can only one winner - but there was many awesome groups this year. TETRIS combined to take the win.
They each took home a $100 Gift Certificate to spend at Quad Lock and a jar of Mum's Jam.
The QUAD LOCK team were also awesome enough to help remove bogged vehicles on the day with their rescue vehicle.
Crumpler
Alex Taylor definitely can't shoot as a Stormtrooper but nailed this awesome bag which was a collaboration between FYXO x Crumpler.
Only 50 will be made and only 13 remain.

Congratulations to Josie Alexander who won $500 to spend at Melburn's coolest bike shop* - Commuter Cycles.

The crowd voted and the Barry Humphries tribute of Dame Edna Everage & Sir Les Patterson took home a$200 Gift Certificate for a Red Balloon experiencefrom Andy & Melodie.

Congratulations Ari - who safely navigated the entire route on this ridiculously rad tall bike. The two tall bikes were possibly the most common bikes to pop in the feed from the day.

Simon Wile, John Howlett & Daryl Susigan all won a Goon Wash bike care pack.

Winner of Melburn Roobaix
Congratulations Matt Clark, who held off Rodger Paul, and Sam Sweeney who both started this ridiculous finale with flat tyres.
Matt took home the Golden Cobble Trophy made by Andy Van Bergen, the cheapest champagne we could find, a jar of Mum's Jam AND $1000 dollarbux.

Bicycle Network
Big FYXO will be riding Around the Bay with Lil' FYXO, handing out high fives and candy as we go.
Bicycle Network have offered an entry as yet another great Roobaix prize - valued at $245.
