FYXO // Merino

What is Merino?

Merino wool is a natural fibre grown by Merino sheep. Bah!

It’s thinner and softer than regular wool, and not itchy like that

sweater your Nan knitted you for Christmas.

It's a natural, renewable fibre. Your average bleeting sheep can

grow 2-kg of wool per year, all the while keeping the sheep

comfortable in the bloody hot to freezing cold.

We know you'll love it

We love getting outside and staying out there for as long

as possible. Our merino range is designed to keep you

comfortable when you venture out into the wild.

We picked Merino because it’s pretty darn perfect for every

adventure regardless of season - and Melburn can throw

every season at you in one day.

Each fibre naturally helps regulate body temperature, wick sweat

away as a vapor, and cancels out odours (just ask Melodie).

If it's spun and dyed just right, it can also block out UV rays from

Earth's closest star up to UPF 20+.

Fancy word, but put simply it's about keep your

body at a stable temperature.

Merino wool transports sweat and moisture away

from skin as a vapour. Merino fibres are inherently

porous unlike synthetic fabrics which wick sweat

when it’s already a liquid, and then your body has

to heat it up to evaporate it—making you feel

clammy in colder weather.

You know that feeling and it sucks.

Smell that?!

Merino wool is unique in that it absorbs odour caused

by bacteria —trapping their smell and keeping them from

building up.

This means you can wear Merino wool odour-resistant clothing

for longer without having to worry about stinking like a

sporting club's change room.
