Condor Italia RC Road | Campagnolo Potenza
Bikes are a curious thing. Just the mere mention of Condor Cycles and I'm transported back to London, long days in the saddle from the West End to Canary Wharf, Camden to Camberwell. One of the first bike couriers I ever drag raced during work was Bobby '88'. From Hyde Park Corner to Piccadilly Circus. A one mile time trial through traffic. As hard as I mashed it seemed I couldn't catch this mad kiwi riding a bike with one gear. It was apparent who was quickest on this day and became mates immediately. I'm sure riders on his fleet still hear the echo of '88' in their ears, no job was too far for him to pick up and he was first to log on, last to log off. This Condor Pista finally gave up the ghost but to me, it's the height of my time living abroad making a living was a two-wheeled delivery person.
The Condor shop was a hub for couriers and bike minded folk alike, perhaps aided by its proximity to the Duke of York where couriers would gather of a Friday to regale the another week of madness and near misses.
Condor Italia RC
Scott from Pedalhead Road Works chose this custom painted Condor Italia RC alloy race machine for the upcoming season of crits and road racing in Edmonton.
It's a super classy looking bike with current Campagnolo Potenza 11s and a Shamal Mille C17 wheelset. Deda cockpit, fizik tape and Prologo saddle round out the touch points.
Nice to see a modern road bike with alloy low profile clinchers - gumwalls always look great.
