Custom Bicycle Paint | VéloColour
Even though my time in Toronto was brief, a good chunk was spent between the four walls of 191 Weston Rd. Noah Rosen is one of those people who is good with his hands and whatever he chooses to pick up, has a knack of doing wonders. Initially consumed with pottery and ceramics, a stint with Mariposa Cycles exposed him to bicycle frame fabrication and paint.
Noah's first appearance at NAHBS in 2009 yielded him BEST PAINT with this Cinelli restoration. Many other builders have won prizes and/or come with bikes covered in his paint schemes. They are nothing short of perfect.
Behind the scenes, his partner in life is an equally important cog in the machine. From design concept, to vectorising artwork to plot, weed and apply, the only thing Suzanne Carlsen doesn't do is wield the paint gun. It's a fantastic pairing and the results speak for themselves.
Shop Tour
It was an absolute delight to hang out at Noah's workspace and see the inner makings of VeloColour. Noah and Suzanne are artists first and foremost with a dedication to perfection. If you follow their work on instagram you will know what I mean. From their converted auto-repair shop they have multiple work spaces for design, fabrication, studio photography, frame preparation, frame paint, bicycle assembly, jewellery fabrication, textile shop, the list goes on.
Not only paint - VeloColour has a great range soft goods from saddle bags, musettes, and other bike related accesories.
Oh Seven.
This frame was set to be packed and shipped. Photos never do the execution justice.
