Rare Beast Spotted in the Wild

It wasn’t that long ago the 26″ was THE standard wheel size, and you don’t have to go that much further back to an era when rim brakes ruled the trails.  Yet when you look at the standard technology in any modern mountain bike this rig looks like it belongs in a museum dedicated to late 90’s buzz.  No tubeless wheelsets here, dropper free and not a care in the world.

Pretty Boy’s On-One is typical of all his bikes.  His track bikes had the same sticker ‘pox’ that covered the tubes completely, but underneath would always been a pair of gucci hubs, or cranks and always KING headsets and Thomson pieces.  If you haven’t seen his flatland whip it’s also worth a look.

This ON-ONE is no different.  Profile BMX hubs, Hope Mini disc up front, KING headset and then there are the rarer items like the Zebra print saddle and some throw backs to #messlife with his handmade creations – top tube pad and stem collar.

Maybe it’s time for some fresh grips.

Nah.
